Hello everyone! Zinia here joining you with a lovely holiday card. I know most of us either make papercrafting cards (just like a tiny scrapbook page without photos) or they focus on stamps and inks. In my card I decided to combine the best of both worlds!
The first step is to work on the main panel. I used some beautiful blue shades of Distress Oxides and did some ink blending. Then I spritzed my panel with water to activate the oxidation and add texture to that background. Instead of using the full panel, I die cut a scallop border to make it more fun and whimsical.
Then it’s time to start building our scene. I adhered the inky panel on a card base and then I started auditioning embellishments from the Sweater Weather collection.
There are so many adorable winter critters in this collection so after I tried them all I settled on this lovely penguin.
I used a script font stamp set by Concord & 9th to stamp my sentiment and I added some details with a white paint marker. Can’t have a winter scene without snow!
That’s it! Simple right? You can have so much fun playing around with your supplies and trying unusual combinations.
I really hope you enjoyed it and you got inspired to create something! Until next time, happy crafting!
