Hello everyone! It's Zinia here and today I want to share with you a really fun origami idea to create star bowls for your favorite tiny embellishments. This is also a great way to use up leftover papers as most of us have a big pile of them in our colleciton.
What I love the most about these little dishes (or bowls, however you wanna call them) is that you can make a bunch of different sizes and have them stacked together until you need to use them. I usually store my embellishments in bags so it's not very convenient to search inside each pack like that. Emptying the bags in these dishes makes it super easy to go through and find what I'm looking for everytime.
You can also use them as permanent storage solution of some items but I prefer switching them around depending on the project I'm working on. The process is really simple and it gets easier the more of these beautiues you make.
For my bowls I started with a square piece of paper at around 20cm. For the different sizes I prefer going up and down a few centimeters so something like 18, 20, 22, 24 and so on.
I made my cute bowls using the latest collection by Amy Tangerine called Sunshine & Good Times. It's really colorful and fresh and I felt that these patterns were perfect for my little storage dishes. You can put anything you want inside, from tiny bits like sequins to bigger items like these inflated ephemera pices.
The best part is that when you are not using them, you can stack them all together and save space! Not to mention that they look freaking adorable even when they are stacked like that!
I really hope you got inspired and excited to give this a try. Make sure to share with us your creations and what little bits you are going to store in them!
